Tobako Samurai Graduation Assignment

This was my final graduation assignment for my Bachelor in Game Design. My task was to create a gamified app that helps Dutch adolescents between the ages of 15-25 to smoke less. After spending months researching topics of behaviourism, motivation and, of course, addiction, I ended up with a concept I called "Tobako Samurai", in which the player can track their smoking behaviour, how much money they saved through smoking less and whenever the urge to smoke arises, they can use the game to distract themselves from it. In the game, the player has to cut cigarettes within a certain time limit, in an attempt to literally break their addiction! I had to create everything from scratch and make it into a playable, interactive app.
